The Basic Knowledge You
Need for 2009 and Beyond
The Basic Fundamentals:

1. Basic Reading Skills:
Understanding of at least high school grade reading level twelve. Then you will always be able to self-educate and move forward in your life. Without basic reading skills you are trapped. For the reason that a person who does not read is producing the same result as a person who cannot read. A healthy goal is to read at least one non-fiction book per month, in the subject of your interest. Understanding of at least high school grade reading level twelve. 2. Basic Math Skills
Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. If you have these basic math skills you can make it in almost any industry.

3. The ability to find information
As the years go by the need for this ability is increasing. All of us need to be able to find what it is we need to know. For a large part, at this very moment, you the reader do not know what you need to know. You don’t have to have all the right answers, you need to know how to find where they are at. Study basic research methods and you will never be helpless again. To be ignorant is one thing, but to be ignorant that you’re ignorant is a whole other thing - Ancient African Proverb

4. Computer/software literacy
We are required to have the knowledge of the basic operation of a computer and of commonly used software by our industries of interest. This knowledge is freely available to you through your library, online and at retail book shops.

5. How to identify opportunities
Opportunities come in all shapes and sizes. Some opportunities you find and other opportunities you create, on occasion some opportunities will find you. If an opportunity arises that you are uncertain of, then experiment with it, try it. The overriding qualification of any opportunity is that the opportunity fits your capabilities and resources, and matches your areas of interest.

6. How to communicate in speech and writing
A simple rule to follow in communication is answering briefly the following:  Who?  What?  Why?  How?  When?  Where?
In addition it would be very profitable to the reader to learn the basics of N.L.P. (Neuro Linguistic Programming). NLP is the understanding of human behavior. For an investment of $20 or so NLP will teach anyone how to produce the results they want in almost any situation with almost any person they want.

7. How to motivate yourself
Self motivation, the ability to take action on one’s own behalf …an inside job. A person who say’s “I need someone to motivate me,” is in a serious dilemma because someone may not show up to motivate them. So make self-motivation a personal study.

8. How to become aware of and modulate your emotional state
This is critical for anyone who wishes to make steady progress. Make it a point to research the many methods of emotional management and intelligence.

9. How to create ideas that apply to your
current situation & circumstance
There is a direct correlation between how many good ideas you come up with and put into action and how much progress you make toward your life objective. The more creative you are the more opportunities you can create. In fact you can think of creativity as your life preserver. There is nothing that creative thinking cannot bring into your life. Exercise your imagination, and sense of wonderment through books, movies, songs, life experiences, other people and the Internet. Acquire for your personal library at least ten books on becoming more creative.

10. How to create a support network for learning, living, and safety
This is a vital importance for you. You must learn how to cultivate a network of people who are becoming parts of your life. Go to functions in your area of interest, meet with people who are working in your area you want to contribute to.
